Seahawks trade for QB Whitehurst

03/18/2010 - Kirkland, WA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Seattle Seahawks acquired quarterback Charlie Whitehurst from the San Diego Chargers for undisclosed draft considerations on Thursday.

According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the Chargers received Seattle's third-round draft pick in 2011 while the teams also swapped second-round picks this year.

Whitehurst was selected by the Chargers in the third round of the 2006 draft but has appeared in just two games since. The Clemson product has served as a backup to Philip Rivers and will be behind Matt Hasselbeck in Seattle.
